December, 2009

As members of the Mercedes-Benz Club of America and specifically the Cincinnati Section, I would like to congratulate each and every one of you for making this one of the top performing Sections in the country. What I mean by this is that because of our local membership, we are actually GROWING and doing more than a lot of the other sections around the country. From September 2008 to August 2009, we increased our membership by almost 7%!  While this might seem like a small number, considering the economic situation of our country, this is truly amazing!!!  It is because of our local members and the recent Section activities that we have been able to get the word out about what we do and how we can make being a Mercedes-Benz owner a lot of fun. In case you didn't know, for each new member you sponsor you get an additional month of membership. If you sign up twelve new members, you get a year free!

We have some great new year activities planned that should be of interest to you. If you have any suggestions for future activities, please let any of us on the Board know. We are always willing to hear from our members. Also, since we are human, we would like to know if there is anything we can do to make your local Section better.  I, for one, am always ready to hear your voices.  Please contact me at srosenzweig2548@gmail.com or at 513-484-8816. Don't forget to check out our website at www.mbca.org/cincinnati for up-to-the-minute activities and changes.  So once again, I thank you and the officers of our Section thank you.

Have a great Holiday Season and see you soon!

April 1, 2009

It’s springtime and everyone is itching to get outside. What a perfect opportunity to get your Mercedes-Benz in shape for the upcoming driving season. Ah, the smell of fresh air and car wax! Anyway, the Cincinnati Section has several events coming up just for you, starting with the Tech Session that will be held at Mercedes-Benz of West Chester in the Collision Center on April 3rd from 5-7pm. This will be a great opportunity for you to get an idea of how we take care of your car should the unfortunate event occur. Phil Mosley will show you how cars get repaired (correctly), and what to do to keep them looking their best for years to come. And don’t forget the Concours d’Ordinaire that will be taking place on May 17th. Read more about these in the newsletter.

The state of the Auto Industry is in shambles. Every day my customers ask me how we (Mercedes-Benz) are doing. The good thing about Mercedes-Benz is that we are in great shape. Sales are holding their own and in some areas, sales are up. Local MB dealerships are doing well and will continue to do so. Service departments are taking great care of their customers, and parts are plentiful. So feel good that you are driving a vehicle built by a great company that despite what is happening around us, will be here to stay.

With the start of the new year comes the start of new leadership for our local section.  First, let me introduce myself to you.  My name is Steve Rosenzweig and I have been chosen as your President for the upcoming year.  Currently, I am employed by Mercedes-Benz of West Chester in the position of Sales Representative.  I have been a member of the Cincinnati Section for approximately ten years and have been an owner of Mercedes-Benz vehicles for over 20 years.  My wife Michele is also very excited about the 2009 calendar, but more about that in a minute.  Filling the other offices of the board are:  Eric Goodrich is the VP and Secretary, Mike Roth is the Treasurer, Nancy Rece is our Membership Chair and Web Master, and Pam Zelman is our Newsletter Editor.  Please welcome the new board members with open arms and positive suggestions.

We have a full schedule planned for 2009 starting off with a New Member dinner on January 25th at Buca di Beppo in Norwood, Ohio (Rookwood Commons) ...followed by a tech session in March (rescheduled to April 3).  There will be a Starfest Event in Indianapolis, a "Concours D' Ordinaire" late spring, and a whole list of other events for the remainder of the year.

I look forward to a great year and the " Re-Launch" of the Cincinnati Section of the Mercedes-Benz Club of America!
