Dallas
Texas

Twenty-six folks joined us for a Mexican lunch and a visit to the renowned Perot Museum.

First on the agenda was lunch at the original, flagship El Fenix location near downtown Dallas.  The manager even briefed us on the history of this venerable restaurant chain and its future plans.  It was founded in 1918 and is the oldest chain of Mexican restaurants in the USA.  After owning the chain for 90 years, the Martinez family sold the company to the Firebird Restaurant Group, also based in Dallas.

After lunch, we proceeded to the nearby Perot Museum of Nature and Science, which is an award-winning architectural jewel located in Victory Park, adjacent to the Dallas Arts District.  The massive windows of the building offered magnificent views of the Dallas skyline.  We enjoyed fun and interesting exhibits which are presented via halls filled with prehistoric creatures, the wonders of outer space, wild weather, robots, sports, and more.
