With a rich and diverse history, and it's dramatic rise to prosperity during the 1800's, it was the state's largest and most significant river port. The pre-civil war town has scenic streets, charming restaurants, quaint B&B's and historic hotels. It's a perfect setting for a weekend getaway.

- Meet at Quick Trip 1400 Joe Ramsey Blvd, Greenville, TX
- 8:30 AM Saturday September 30th.
- Leave at 9:00 AM. Take HWY 69 south to Alba, TX. Turn left on TX 182E
- Take TX182 East to Hwy 154W East to Marshall, TX to the Texas and Pacific Railway Museum, 800 N. Washington Ave.
- To lunch at Jucy’s Hamburgers 2003 Victory Dr. Marshall
- Option 1) Take HWY 80 West to HWY 154 W 14.5 Miles (20 minutes) to Enoch’s Stomp Vineyard & Winery
- Then on to Jefferson
OR
- Option 2) head North on Hwy 59 to Jefferson, TX
- Free time to shop the antique shops, General Store Market or Museums
- Check in to your hotel:

- 5:00 Meet at McGarity's Restaurant and Saloon for Happy hour (half hour) to relax and visit.

Sunday October 1st
- 8:50 Excellent Breakfast at Taste of Caddo Restaurant
- If you are staying at Excelsior House Hotel and prefer their breakfast, feel free to make reservations there instead.
- 10:00 Head to Turning Basin Riverboat Tours for a 1-hour historical tour of the river.
- Lunch at the Big Pines Lodge
