M-B Shine n Show Recap

On this Sunday afternoon Mercedes-Benz owners and aficionados brought their vehicles to the mid-day show held at The Corners of Brookfield living/shopping center at 20111 Bluemound Rd just east of the Barker Rd (Exit297 off I-94) intersection. Having the benefit of a recent Detailing Tech Session held a couple of weeks earlier, the cars were looking fantastic. The members were routinely engaged in discussing their babies with each other and the myriad of folks touring the cars in the show; while they shopped for other personal items at the unique specialty shops found in residence at The Corners or lunched at over a dozen abundant restaurants in the complex.

This was the third-year for the show and the second year of dealer sponsorship by Mercedes-Benz Milwaukee North-Shore. M-B North Shore had a variety of current models on display in front of Von Maur. The attendees had viewing-access to five different models: a 2024 C43, a ‘24 GT53, a ‘23 SL43, a ‘23 EQS 580, and a 2020 G 63. The display was competently manned by Michael Mueller of the sales department. You will see some of them in pictures. M-B Milwaukee North Shore also provided several fabulous door prize boxes for our door prize drawing. It was like Christmas in May. Thank you Mercedes-Benz Milwaukee North Shore.

There will be some photos of the event published. If you took some good pictures, please forward them to our newsletter editor, Chad Winter at chad@crs-wi.com. Another article will list the award winners from the voluntary competition also held in conjunction with the Shine & Show event. We are especially grateful for the assistance of Jordyn Swan, Marketing Manager; Robert Gould, CEO; and the Security staff of The Corners of Brookfield for helping to make this event successful. Goddess & The Baker provided free coffee and muffins on site. The Corners also provided a gift card to the winner of “Gould’s Favorite” award. Robert Gould owned a couple of Benz’s and continued the tradition of selecting his favorite from the show cars. This year he was moved by the sentimental attachment of a families’ 1983 300D passed down with multiple generation history.

The competition/judging was handled by Todd Knutson, Chief Judge, long-time M-B owner/restorer. He got some assistance from former member and M-B owner, Bob Turznik who volunteered to help out. Todd (and wife Terry) arrived in a 300D 2.5 Turbo Diesel acquired only a couple days earlier. We hope all that participated enjoyed the afternoon. Beautiful weather and magnificent vehicles are a great foundation to build upon.
